Yoga Props - Crepe bandages

Author: Sundeep Sitara

Crepe bandages are used in yoga in restorative postures to help you relax at the end of your yoga practice.

You put the crepe yoga bandage over your eyes and it works to help your eyeballs relax by letting your closed eyes recede in their sockets.

Relaxing your eyeballs in this way relaxes the brain, your facial muscles and your nervous system.

Of course you can do restorative poses without a crepe yoga bandage, but try one out, and you feel the benefits.

The ideal dimension for a crepe yoga bandage would be 2.5 to 3 meters (8-10 feet) in length and 10 centimetres (4 inches) wide. It should be light in weight and colour. you fold the crepe about three to four times to form a blindfold - but do not tie it around your head or fix it to your head in any way. the crepe bandage should rest gently across your eyes.
